Green and silver for Van Genechten Packaging in Latvia
All over the world, Van Genechten Packaging is making an impact – by minimising its impact. The Silver Sustainability Index award given to VG Kvadra Pak by the Institute of Corporate Sustainability and Responsibility, is the latest example.
Dace Helmane, Head of the Institute and Coordinator of the Sustainability Index notes the growing importance of sustainability: “The Sustainability Index has been very popular and this clearly shows that companies that adhere to the principles of corporate sustainability and responsibility in their daily work are the leaders of the future.”
Sustainability is not just a fashionable topic – it is something that companies are taking seriously. The latest Eurobarometer data show that nine out of ten Europeans are concerned about sustainability issues and 24% of Latvian companies undertook the recent assessment for inclusion in the index.
Following the official certification of Van Genechten Packaging’s Angoulême plant in France as “climate neutral” in December 2020, the Silver award is further evidence that Van Genechten Packaging is adhering to the strictest principles of sustainable business, and that its operations are an example to be followed all around the world.
We are proud to announce that our Latvian operations have been awarded Silver for sustainable business principles. Another example of how Van Genechten Packaging is making an impact – by minimising its impact on nature.
